The secretary of the Bridge Inn FC supporters club has released a statement in reply to Gareth Cook's recent press release. He expressed that the Bridge Inn FC Supporters were feeling extremely anxious with regard to Gareth Cook's current mental state. Whilst leading scorer Cook reminisced and essentially romanticised the relationship he shares with the the club's supporters the secretary maintained that no messages of encouragement and sincerity were actually ever relayed. In fact, many Bridge Inn fans feel that Cook's lengthy layoff and detachment from society has made him somewhat delusional concerning his role at the club and the relationship he shares with the fans. If tabloid speculation is to be believed then Gareth Cook - who moonlights as Sami Hypia during the week - has actually not been injured at all and has in fact been pursuing a contract at Liverpool Football club. Whilst Cook would probably have to settle for a starting position in the Anfield stands he has certainly not been coy about his unnatural love for both Sami Hypia and Rafa Benitiz. If would seem though that the acquistion of a lucrative contract at the Merseyside club is some way off especially with Benitiz's recent comments still ringing in Cook's ears. Apparently the Liverpool manager said Cook's diving for penalties was simply, "not up to scratch". So, whilst rumours may dog Gareth Cook's footballing career like a bad odour this weekends game is certainly an opportunity for him to win over the fans and surely show that he is not the delusional sicknote - sorry, injury prone player that many believe him to be.

Well Gareth certainly seems to be 'talking up' his imminent return However, if he can 'walk the walk' as well as he 'talks the talk' I for one will welcome his return. He is, after all, our current top goalscorer for the season with 11 goals. With just five games left this season it appears only Mark Hemp can stop him claiming this illustrious prize!!!
