Tuesday night saw Showboat FC take on Asbo FC which on paper looked to be a fiery affair.
This game saw the boats highest attendance matched showing the loyal fans have been enjoying the football on offer.
The game started slowly with no team edging in front, this was mainly due to the late 9:30 KO. After some sloppy defending the boat were 1-0 down. This sparked the team into life. Passes were crisper, there was more talking and the flowing runs started to impress the fans. Thanks to the fast footwork of James B and a clinical finish by Jason the boat started to take their chances.
Sadly the Cat wasn't having the best of games with poor distribution and being unable to hold onto the ball. The defense was sure that they wouldn't be in the dog house and improved their performance with clinical through passes.
More sloppy goals were conceded with the mixture of players not playing simple balls and poor distribution but this was matched with pin-point finishing. Although there were times where the finishing was terrible!
The wood work came to the rescue for Asbo on a number of occasions and kept them in the game.
After all was said and done showboat rolled up with a 9-7 victory.
Next week showboat take on fellow promoted side Roseberry FC with both teams having no love lost between them.
