The mighty Boat carried on their fine form last night by registering 2 victories agaist teams around them in the league.
After another administration error by the powerleague the Boat only had one game after the other team failed to show up so a 10-0 victory was given. This meant confidence was high going into the game against Roseberry FC.
The Boat started badly despite having 8 men, Roseberry obviously keen to avenge their 11-7 drubbing in the reverse fixture. The poor start saw us go a goal behind, but the Boat rallied well to go into the break with a one goal advantage. This mainly thanks to Dan 'the man' Brooks and James 'the cat' Hall.
This saved Webb's blushes as he had missed a number of guilt edge chances!
The second half saw the Boat get to grips with the game, with Paul 'Gay Meadow' Thompson in the middle pulling the strings, the Boat were now scoring for fun! Well most people were scoring for fun.
Showboat then took their foot of the gas and eased up in the last minutes, this didn't matter as they ran out 13-6 winners, cementing their place in the top 3 of the division (I say top 3 because the league has not been updated properly.) Despite the large number of goals scored Phil 'the power' Naylor was unable to find the net, which Daz had great pleasure in telling everyone.
Of the 13 goals Gav claims to have scored 4, however after consulting the dubious goals commitee, it appers that 3 were actually own goals that were deflected in, when going wide.
The Boat now have 2 games left against Risk it for a Busicit and Eyeball FC. The Boat have beaten these two teams earlier in the season.
