Tuesday 25th saw Showboat FC take on Larger Legs who are rooted to the bottom of the league.
This match started with the news that captain James Butler and goal machine Gavin Webb were absent, media speculation is that both players were at championship outfits lining up with possible moves. This was later quashed in the post match press conference.
Showboat saw the return of James Dyer and a Showboat debut for Daz Naylor.
Nerves were high at the start of the match after the defeat last week but this was not shown on the pitch. Fine footwork, pace and determination from all players saw the boat sail to a 8-4 first half lead. This saw Gary Munro hit a scorcher into the top corner & Dan Brooks hitting the bar with an audacious chip.
Players turned out after half time refreshed and eager for the win. Fine flowing football was observed with cross-field passes gliding across the surface.
The half time team talk clearly had an impact with the boat dominating possession and cruising to a 10-5 victory. This sees Showboat FC now 2nd in the league with 15 points.
The next match is against Team Meat who hammered the boat 10-2 on the last outing. After a performance like the one against Larger Legs I can only see a boat victory.
