As you may be aware our Tuesday night 5-aside team is up and running.
Tuesday sees our 1st fixture down at the power league as we take on TVFC in Div6, who lost there last game 14-4.
Kick Off is at 9.30 (I apologise for the late KO)
Currently we have 6 players for Tuesday.

Gav
Matt Hallam (possibly)
We could do with 7 players really, so if anyone else is interest just reply to this thread. The place will be given away on a 1st come 1st serve basis.
The cost will be £7ish per person in the first week but will then go to £5ish per person afterwards. This is to cover the registration fee.

Would we not be better off meeting closer to 9? Registering will take a little while and we'll need a bit of a kick around for a warm up.

Tuesday night saw the mighty Showboat FC take to the artifical pitches at the Powerleague for the 1st time.
After a slight adiministerial mix up we were drawn against a team from Div4 in the cup and also placed on one of the main showcourts, that drew in a large crowd.
We did not let this faze us, as we put up a respectable performance against a team 2 divisions higher than us, finally going down to a 7-5 defeat. (To be fair this could have been worse apart from a magnificent second half display from 'The Cat' James Hall)
If we keep playing like that, we will be fine in Div6.
Next week should see our first league fixture (can never be sure!) I will post times etc on this board next Monday. Hopefully it will be an earlier K.O.

P.S. Thanks for the kit Matt, although I'm still trying to peel mine off. Next week we'll just paint a kit on!!

Although we lost 7 - 5 I think if we look at the powerleague rules for a cup game, we are actually the winners 9 - 7. If this has not been picked up by the officials we should take it the the court of arbitration for sport  Just in case anybody is unsure, I was the innaugral scorer for Showboat F C and my name will go down in club history. Am I also the only one who still has the official showboat F C kit on 48 hours later?? Not for the want of trying to get it off though. It's actually looks more like a tattoo than an item of clothing now ;D |

Today I have received a call from the power league and unfortunatley the game on Tuesday was not in actual fact a cup game. It was a guide game to see what standard we are and which division to put us in (I'd already told them we were crap!)
Obviously the powers that be were so impressed by our first game that they have placed us in League 1!......................Only joking Division 7 really! I didn't think we played that bad!
Anyway our next game will be on Tuesday at 6.30 (a far more reasonable K.O time)
As for that kit I think I have just got a permanent imprint of Bukta on my left tit!

I think division 7 is a tad harsh. After all, they only got the last 2 goals right at the end. They had a fair few chances but we had more than enough of our own too. At least we know how competetive some of the teams are and can give it a bit back next week. Think it might of just been cos it was past all our bed times.

So as the season is 2 games in does that mean we have a goal difference of -20 now and 0 points from two games? I think they know how good we are they are just trying to knock us down! Do you think if we ask nicely we can have a Showboat FC section on the forum. The increase in traffic to this site due to us will show a need.  |

Dan, We have currently got 7 players but if you want to come down its up to you. Will mean we have 3 subs.
Kick off is 7.30 so we are meeting at 7.15.
