I would like to thank all of those people who turned up for pre-season training on Sunday (25 July). I know it is a bit demoralising when there aren't that many there but it I don't think the session was wasted.
I always like to think that the players who didn't turn up are the ones who missed out. Particulalrly those that didn't bother to let us know that they wouldn't be there.
I know Craig is taking note of who makes the effort to either be there, or if they can't be there, let us know well in advance.
Thanks

THAT BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE.....
I THOUGHT THE SESSION WAS GOOD, I WAS PLEASED WITH THE KICKING PRACTICE, SOMETHIGN I FELT WE WERE LAX AT LAST SEASON. I DIDN'T DARE ASK FOR A FREE KICK LAST YEAR, THERE SEEMED TO BE PRE DETERMINED KICKERS.
I MUST SAY, WHILE I'M HERE, THAT THE OVERALL ORGANISATION AND EFFORT THAT HAS BEEN APPLIED TO THESE SESSIONS IS SUPERB, ANY TEAM WHO PREPARES THIS WELL MUST SURELY BE ABLE TO IMPROVE ON OUR SEASON GONE.

Brought a tear to your eye? ? Isn't that the pain you are still feeling from your game on Saturday Any more of these lovey, touchy, feely messages from you Dan and people will start to talk!!! On the other hand I'm glad you think each of the sessions are well organised. Four weeks pre-season training isn't really enough but I think it is important. I've always felt that if you are organised off the field you are more likely to be organised on the field. However, there is always room for improvement and I'm always looking for new ideas even if it's not possible to implement them this season. What sort of things do you do at training for your Saturday side? Do you just play matches or is it more structured than that?

More structured. Similar to your sessions. We jog round the rugby pitch, before stretching out. then we have a set circuit, a lap follwed by ten press ups, a lap ten sit ups, so on and so forth, then half an hours ball skills. sprints, then a match, usually two touch for first 15. we train for about 2 hours, then have a match for a bout half an hour. free kick practice is rarer, but as the season draws closer we focus more on things like set plays.
