Just hoped that would grab some eye's! So how are you boys doing? Results board don't look to hot, what happened to the side that beat druids tavern? The way you played that game u could have taken on anyone?! You boys need a bit of confidence in yourselves. Your all good footballers, lackin only the belief you can win!

I picked up my first man of the match this season last week! Wahey! Playin centre back! But it was fun.

After a gary megson style performance at Steeds i have left my saturday side for greener pastures too! Now playing for Long Eaton Oasis, the team i skippered long ago!

Hi Dan,

Nice to hear from you. I do pop onto the Steed Athletic site from time to time to keep up to date on how you are doing. All I'll say is that it is interesting

Yeah, things are pretty tough on the playing front at the moment although the results themselves don't tell the whole story. The early performances were not good but things have got considerably better in the last few weeks. Our last game against Elwes Arms in the cup was a prime example. 2-1 up against a previously unbeaten side as we enter injury time. Before you know it we've lost two players through injury, are down to 9 men and concede an injury time equaliser. All of a sudden it's 2-6

But we'll pick ourselves up again and I'm sure that first win of the season isn't too far away.

By the way can you apologise to Dave for me for not responding to the text message he sent me. I wanted to get in touch just to let him know that the next time I see him I'll break his legs for running out on us the little turn coat

But seriously (I'd never catch him for a start) can you thank him for helping us out while he did. He's a good player and I do agree with him that he should be playing with people closer to his own age. However if he ever fancies coming back he's more than welcome.

I don;t know whether or not you've gathered then, that i no longer play on a saturday for steed!

I Made my debutdant return to my old saturday side, Long Eaton Oasis (www.web-teams.co.uk/longeatonoasis)!!! on saturday, in a central midfield 6-2 win. Great fun!

Hope you guys continue to work at it, Dave mentioned the kit was nice, keep in touch boyo, and the less of the old man grandad! ;D
