It was reported on the Nottingham Combination League website that there had been another incident of a car being broken into at a football ground while the owner was playing. It's probably as good a time as any for a reminder not to leave anything of value in your car while you are playing. Everything should be taken with you to the side of the pitch. If it is raining we have a large plastic sheet which can be used to cover the bags to stop them from getting wet.
The full message from the Combination website is reproduced below for your attention.
The City Council have informed me of a Car Break in at Clifton last Sunday. This offence as you are aware is not confined to any particular ground it happens at the majority of them. I have complained in the past both to the Police and Council for extra patrols at all grounds but all to no avail the main reason being either lack of resources or the cost involved so we are on our own on this one. I urge you to make sure you leave nothing on display in the car and likewise don't have any faith in the security of the dressing rooms. Take all your belonging with you to the touchline and cover with a plastic sheet I know it is a lot of hassle but better that then going home in your football strip which has happened in the past on more than one occasion.
