Just found the Volo match report from our game with them. Quite flattering really as I didn't think we were in it at all but I suppose there are always two points of view.
Enjoy....... if you can!!!!
SUNDAY SAW THE TOUGH VISIT OF LA TOQUE WHO VOLO WERE UNABLE TO BEAT LAST SEASON. TO MAKE THINGS TOUGHER BOTH 1ST and 2nd CHOICE GOALKEEPERS WERE UNAVAILABLE. SO IN CAME NOVICE GOALKEEPER AMERICAN NICK DUDE. TO MAKE IT WORSE CAPTAIN AND CENTRE HALF DEAN BUTLER WAS RULED OUT THREW INJURY. WITH NO RYAN, JUDE BONSER AND ARRON MOHAMMED AND SHOZZA STILL INJURED THINGS LOOKED BLEAK. ON THE PLUS SAW THE RETURN OF JAMES 2pugwash" BOOTH ON THE RIGHT HANDSIDE. IN CAME CARL BATES TO THE LEFT WITH ANDY DAMES IN CENTRE MID JACK UP FRONT AND PHILL LEES AT CENTRE HALF. THE FIRST HALF WAS ALL VOLO PLAYING AGAINST THE WIND, QUITE A FEW NEAR CHANCES HAPPENED BEFORE WALKER GRABBED HIS FIRST FROM A 500 YARD THREW BALL FROM THE LEGEND (we'll hear about that all season) THE SECOND FROM GREAT TEAM PLAY FROM JACK CRAIG AND JAMES BOOTH FOR WALKER TO GRAB HIS SECOND. THE SECOND HALF LA TOQUE GOT BACK INTO IT BUT THE BACK FOUR OF EDWARDS MEER LEES AND THOMAS FOUGHT LIKE THE GREAT BACK FOUR OF DIXON ADAMS WINTERBURN AND KEOWN. AS INJURIES TO DANNY SLATS AND CARL BATES SAW THE TWO SUBS MAKE AN APPEARANCE. WITH LA TOQUE THREATENING TO GET BACK INTO THE GAME VOLO SEARCHED FOR A NEEDED 3rd AND IT CAME FROM A CROSS FROM JAMES BOOTH WHICH WALKER NOSED IN AT THE BACK POST FOR HIS HATRICK AND IN RETURN GIVING HIM A NOSE LIKE AN ONION BARGHI. WALKER CAME OFF INJURED LEAVING VOLO WITH 10 MEN. IN THE LAST MINUTE LA TOQUE GOT THERE FIRST SHOT ON GOAL WHICH AMERICAN NICK DIVED LIKE GORDON BANKS TO SAVE ANDGIVING HIM ACLEAN SHEET ON HIS BIRTHDAY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUDE. VOLO HUNG ON AND ANOTHER CLEAN SHEET.
