There was some mumbling in the changing before our game on Sunday about the state of the socks (nothing new there as someone is always mumbling about something!!!).
However, it cannot be denied that some of the socks are in a very bad way and are in need of replacing. There is one big problem though....... MONEY. Or more importantly lack of it.
You have all been notified of the price increases for the upcoming season. The first price increases since the club was formed way back in the 1995/96 season
These increases in price are simply to help cover the general running costs of the Club NOT to buy replacement kit. If we want to buy new socks we are going to have to raise money some other way.
There are many ways of doing this - raffles, prize draws, football scratch cards, stealing, etc!!!
However, the easiest way for us to raise quite a bit of money is through the Club Shop. At the moment there are offers available for both the Capital One credit card and Egg credit card. If you apply for AND activate either of these cards through the club shop we will receive £22 and £14 respectively.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE THE CARD FOR THE CLUB TO GET THE MONEY. IF YOU WANT YOU CAN CUT THE CARD UP AND THROW IT AWAY AS SOON AS YOU RECEIVE IT.
To buy a brand new set of socks will cost the Club £47.20. If just two people get a Capital One credit card we will practically have the money to buy a new set of socks.
I've already been through this process last season so therefore can't apply for another one
This leaves us with one simple fact. If you want new socks some people are going to have to apply for credit cards.
The choice is yours gentlemen
